Polish inflation at 2.8% in October: stats office

Inflation in Poland stood at 2.8 percent in year-on-year terms in October, the country’s statistics office said on Friday.

The figure was in line with a flash estimate released by the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency at the end of last month.

In Septemberthe prices of consumer goods and services in Poland were 2.9 percent higher than in the same month a year earlier, according to Statistics Poland.

In AugustPoland's consumer price index also stood at 2.9 percent, Statistics Poland reported.

The statistics office said earlier this year it had revised its system of weights used for calculating the consumer price index in 2025.

Next year, Polish inflation is expected to average 3.1 percent, under the country's budget adopted by the government in August.

The Polish central bank predicted in its latest Inflation Report, released on November 7, that inflation would average 3.7 percent in 2025, followed by 2.9 percent in 2026 and 2.5 percent in 2027.
